BOBBY WOLFF’S COMPUTER HACKED

Hundreds of you have received a scamming erroneous email that Bobby is stranded in Scotland with his luggage and papers stolen and has asked you to send money to his hotel (with all details).  IT IS STRICTLY A MATTER OF A HOAX (IDENTITY THEFT) which we have reported.   We apologize for the annoyance but appreciate your concern and are embarrassed at the thought of such a lie.   However, we appreciate all of your messages and kind offers, but we are fine, alive and happily (though chagrined) living in Vegas with business as usual.  If you were among those hundreds contacted, we apologize but it is comforting that so many people did check the outrageous message out with us.

Warmly,

Bobby and Judy Wolff

I was a “lucky” recipient of this email. I had to laugh, because the wording was a far cry from Bobby’s meticulous usage and grammar.

Unfortunately, Robb, many took it at face value and offered support. We also heard from someone who tried to verify it by calling the hotel to ascertain if there was a guest by the name of Bobby Wolff, learned that many had also called before him. It was very embarrassing to Bobby but nice to know people cared.

The computers are like two faced swords but how could we live without them???

I got the email request as well, but since I had just played against you and Bobby in Laughlin, I knew it was a hoax. (I think I would have known anyway) Other email lists have been hacked as well. I am in a chat group with others who have the same breed of dog that I have. One of them was supposedly stuck in Scotland also. Scotland must be a wonderful place for so many of my friends to be visiting there at the same time. I did not send her any money either.

See you at the club, assuming Bobby gets back in time!(Just kidding)

Jane,

I appreciate your sense of humor. We can laugh at it now but at the time we learned of the hack, it wasn’t so funny

trying to straighten it out. Why Scotland? I’d rather get stuck on the French Riviera or Tahiti!

“Why Scotland? I’d rather get stuck on the French Riviera or Tahiti!”

I suppose I can only concede that the weather in Tahiti and the French Riviera has more in common with Vegas than Scotland, but at least we have some variety instead of endless heat.

And August in Edinburgh features the largest cultural event in the world with simultaneous arts and cultural festivals. There are also some of the best golf courses in the world. Good reasons to be here.

More importantly, where else can you get deep-fried pizza, surely one of Bobby’s favourite dishes? Now that is something that you cannot order in your fancy restaurants overlooking the Mediterranean.

Paul:

I was just trying to be humorous. Did not mean to offend you. Bobby’s not big on

arts and festivals — but the deep fried pizza would have his undying love.

Perhaps I was just trying to make light of a nightmarish situation and hope no one else undergoes it. Invasion of privacy is the worst!

Cheers,

Judy

“I was just trying to be humorous”

Ditto.

Good! The last thing I would do would be to offend you.
